The Ramakrishna Clinic of South Africa conducted a free comprehensive medical outreach clinic at Acaciavale Primary School in Ladysmith on Sunday, 20 September 2026, providing much-needed healthcare services to more than 800 members of the local community.

A wide range of medical and allied healthcare services was made available, including general medicine, specialist physician consultations, paediatrics, gynaecology, general surgery, ENT, orthopaedics, optometry, audiology and dental care. Patients also benefited from preventative health screenings, physiotherapy, psychology, social work services, dietetics, speech therapy and ECG testing. All consultations, investigations, treatments and medication were provided free of charge.

The optometry team attended to more than 100 patients during the outreach. Those requiring corrective eyewear will receive their spectacles free of charge once they have been prepared.

The clinic served patients across a remarkable age range, from an elderly patient aged 107 years to infants only a few months old. Revered Swami Swatmaramanandaji Maharaj, President of the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa, visited the outreach and interacted with healthcare professionals, volunteers and patients. Breakfast and lunch packs were distributed to all those attending the clinic.

The Ramakrishna Clinic of South Africa extends its sincere gratitude to the medical practitioners, allied healthcare professionals, volunteers, local businesses and sponsors whose generous support and selfless service made this outreach possible. The event was a powerful expression of compassionate service, reflecting Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring words: “They alone live, who live for others.”
