The morning programme included Tithi Puja, a special havan, and Satsang held in the Shrine. The evening programme, held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, took the form of a celebratory cultural programme in the Swami Nischalananda Hall. It included a keynote address by the Hon. Mr Niteen Subhash Yeola, Consul General of India, Durban, who reflected on Swami Vivekananda’s contribution to India and his universal message to humanity, and a musical discourse by Revered Swami Swatmaramanandaji Maharaj, President of the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa. This was followed by musical renditions by local artists.
