The Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa was honoured to host Revered Swami Sarvasthanandaji Maharaj, Minister‑in‑Charge of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, UK, from 22 March to 10 April 2026. His visit drew many devotees who came to listen to his teachings on Vedanta and the life and message of Swami Vivekananda. Over three weeks, he travelled across the country, visiting Cape Town, Gauteng, and KwaZulu‑Natal.

Maharaj’s arrival coincided with Ramayana Week, during which he delivered talks at the Durban, Phoenix, and Chatsworth Centres on the ideals of Sri Ramachandra. On 26 March 2026, he led the Sri Ram Navami midday Pooja and Havan at the Durban Centre.

A major focus of the tour was the relevance of Vedanta in modern life. In Johannesburg, at the Benvenuto Conference Centre, he spoke on “The Vedantic Cure for the Modern Mind.” In Cape Town, he presented “Harmony of Life & Science of Human Possibilities.”

Maharaj also dedicated several sessions to Swami Vivekananda’s universal message. His presentation on “Swami Vivekananda in England” offered insight into Swamiji’s work in the West. On 5 April 2026, he addressed the youth on personality development and meditation, encouraging them to build inner strength and purpose.

His regional visits reflected a strong commitment to service and community upliftment. At the Ramakrishna Mzamo Home in Phoenix, he spent time learning about the Centre’s ongoing welfare work. In Pietermaritzburg, Estcourt, Ladysmith, and Newcastle, he spoke on the essentials of spiritual life and the Four Yogas, guiding devotees on how to integrate work, worship, and knowledge in daily living. He also presided over Sri Hanuman Jayanti at the Durban Centre and visited the Sri Sarada Devi Ashram, where he spoke on the guiding presence of the Holy Mother.

Swami Sarvasthanandaji Maharaj departed from OR Tambo International Airport on 10 April for Dar es Salaam.

The Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa extends heartfelt pranams to Maharaj and sincere thanks to all volunteers and sub‑centres for their dedicated support throughout the tour.
